What a Crazy, Busy Year...

Greetings Everyone!

It has been a crazy, busy year! I realized today that I have not posted in a very long time. Since my last post I have launched a Steampunk clothing line with friends known as Victorian Secret, and gotten married.

My husband and I are in the process of reorganizing our 1 bedroom to live together. This means another down sizing of my craft room. I have listed items I no longer use on my eBay page.

With the holidays approaching, I will be vending at 3 craft fairs this season. Below is my newest addition to my winter holiday card collection.

This is a simple A2 sized card. I embossed the red cardstock with my Cuttlebug using the Oxford folder from Provo Craft. The buckle was made by cutting slits at opposite ends of the glitter cardstock square.

First Project of the New Year! Welcom 2015!

Happy New Year Everyone! Welcome 2015! So long 2014!

Every new year I set a goal or "resolution." This year I just want to be healthier and continue to be crafty. I hope to post at least once a week some of the different projects I've been working on.

So....here goes....

My first project for 2015 is an altered cabinet. I purchased the unfinished cabinet from my local Goodwill.

I figured it would be perfect altered with Graphic 45's French Country paper collection.

I started by taking apart the cabinet by removing all the hardware. I then painted all of the wood with black acrylic paint.

Next I measured all the sides and pieces of the cabinet. The height of the cabinet is taller than the paper in the 12x12" G45 French Country collection. So for the longer sides I used a piece of the rooster and hen border to cover the seams between paper strips.

Once I had finished cutting and laying out all of the pieces of paper I wanted to use, I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain ink. I used Mod Podge for furniture to adhere the paper to the painted cabinet. Using a plastic putty knife I pressed out the extra glue and any air bubbles.

I covered the doors as well. The larger square door was easier than the smaller heart doors. I used an x-acto knife to trim out the heart openings.

Once all the paper was adhered, I let it dry for about 2 hours. After which I covered every edge with the Mod Podge to seal it. I waited another 2 hours before installing the hardware to the doors.

I really like the wired piece that came with the cabinet and tacked it back to the larger square door.

Next I adhered pieces of paper to the backside of the cabinet to enclose the shelf. I did this to both the top and bottom portion of the cabinet.

Then using a cereal box I created a back to the cabinet using black cardstock.


My next step is to create altered pieces to place in the cabinet. I'm so excited to have finished this cabinet as it has been sitting in my "To Do" bin for a few months.

Embossed "Happy Halloween" Card

Good Evening Everyone,

Today is the first day of my vacation. This is the first full vacation I've had in years. I really have no plans to go anywhere, but I do have plans to work on many projects.

Today I completed this cards:

The main image is a stamp from Inkadinkado. I stamped the image with VersaMark and embossed in with Midnight Black embossing powder from Stampendous.

I then inked the embossed panel with Iced Spruce and Black Soot Distress Ink. I covered the whole panel with the Iced Spruce and inked the edges with the Black Soot I used the wrap around method to attach a piece of ribbon along the left edge of the image panel. I took a shorter piece and tied a knot.

I stamped the sentiment with Tuxedo Black ink and adhered three red rhinestones.

There is a kit available in my eBay store to create 6 of these cards with envelopes.

Entry for Core'dinations' Online Crop Mini Challenge #4

Yesterday Core'dination posted four timed mini challenges. This is my version of the fourth challenge-sketch.

I used paper from the Chocolate Box collection. The pictures are on my two Min-Pins (Chica and Spike) and my Maine Coon cat (Cranky). They miss me very much when I'm at work. So once I get home I lay on the couch with them for a little bit. 

The title "Miss You" is cut from the Paper Pups Cricut Cartridge.

Twilight Lay out Part 2

Materials: use the same materials as Twilight Lay out Part 1

Instructions:
1. mount 6x6 piece of stripe paper and paisley paper to bottom of 12x12 black card stock.
2. mount 2.5x12 piece of stripe paper to black cardstock a quarter inch down from top of page
3. mount 2x12 piece of paisley paper on bottom edge of strip stripe.
4. mount .5x12 piece of deep red cardstock on bottom edge of paisley stripe.
5. mount 4.5x6.5 deep red photo mat a half inch down from top and half inch in from right side of page.
6. mount 4.5x6.5 deep red photo mat in lower left side of page, half inch in from left edge and bottom of page.
7. create a journaling box by mounting a 2.5x3 piece of cream paper on to a 3x3.5 piece of deep red paper and adhere to page in top left corner about an inch down from top and 1.5 inches in from left edge.
8. Add two 4x6 photos and enjoy

Twilight Lay-out

~Twilight Layout~

materials: black 12x12 paper, cream 11x11 paper, 2x12 strip of paisley and vertical stripes, 2.5x12 strip of flower/leaf print paper, dark green cardstock, black cardstock, dark red card stock, Cricut with Doodlecharms and Tear Drop, Cricut mats, vellum, flat and dimentional adhesives,

How-to:
1. Using DoodleCharms cut a 3.5 green apple, cut a 3.5 red apple with the shift key pressed on the Cricut machine.
2. Place a small scrap of vellum between apple layers over the shine cut out. Adhere the three layers together, apply dimentional adhesive to the back and set a side.
3. Cut title "Twilight" using Tear Drop at 1.5 on the Cricut using red. Create shadow of the letters using black. Adhere layers together and set a side.
4. Adhere cream card stock to center of black 12x12 card stock.
5. Adhere stripe strip about a half inch from the bottom of the cream paper horizontal to the lay-out.
6. Adhere Paisley strip on one edge of the flower/leaf strip. Adhere layers to the left edge vertically on the 12x12 page.
7. Cut two 2.5x2.5 pieces and one 5.5x7.5 piece of dark red card stock. Apply adhesive to the backs.
8. Adhere 5.5x7.5 cardstock half an inch down from the top of the cream cardstock and centered horizonatally and the two 2.5x2.5 cardstock to the left of the 5.5x7.5 cardstock.
9. Adhere apple to the right edge of the stripe strip
10. Apply title "Twilight" to the space between stripe strip and 5.5x7.5 photo mat.
11. Add pictures and display.
