Steampunk Banner Using G45 and the Cricut

Good Morning Everyone,

Above is the Steampunk Version of a Halloween banner I saw on Xyron's Facebook page a few weeks ago. I love the original banner. So I decided to first make my own Halloween version then I decided to create a Steampunk version. I used paper from Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante collection along with cardstock from Core'dinations. The keys and hot air balloon are from the Victorian Romance Cricut Cartridge.

The quote is from Edger Allen Poe; one of my favorite authors.

I thought it was very cute, and something I could create with my Cricut and the Happy Hauntings cartridge. So here is a picture of my version of the Halloween banner.

I used paper from Die Cuts with a View and various embellishments I had in my brad and rub-on drawers. The pattern papers are inked with Walnut Stain Distress ink by Tim Holtz.

Steampunk Altered Art Shadow Coffin

Good Afternoon Everyone!

It's sunny and hot here in New Hampshire USA. Laundry is drying in the sun and I have finished another Steampunk themed project. I bought the coffin at Michael's and the paper from Stamping Memories in Belmont NH.

The pattern paper is from the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante collection. I used some of Tim Holtz's Wild Honey distress ink around the edges of the paper.

I used denominational foam under the flowers in the left side of the coffin and the corset on the right side.

The charms are jewelry pieces in my collection of embellishments. The loop opens to add more charms or to change the assortment. I spray painted the gears using Krylon paints.

Challenge #3- Char-Antiquing

I decided to use papers from the Chocolate Box with Graphic 45 Steampunk paper to create layouts of one of the costumes I created.  Here is the final layout. It is a two page spread.

I cut and antiqued the banner pieces that rest under the Graphic 45 paper on both pages.

I also antiqued the photo mounts. Then ripped them around the pictures.The gears are cut using the Indie Art cartridge for the Cricut. I also used real gears that I got at Lowe's.

Entry for the Core'dinations Online Crop- Day One Challenge #2

Good Evening Everyone!

As many of my blog readers know I"m in love with Graphic 45's paper. So for the Core'dination Day One Challenge #2 by Kim, I decided to integrate some of the paper into my project. I love how the Core'dination Chocolate Box collection works with all of G45's paper. I used Chocolate Box in Blueberry, Black Cherry and Kiwi to make the banner that runs down the side of the notebook.

The inside is created using Black Cherry and Blueberry too.

 I pushed for a Steampunk kind of feel. Here is the final notebook.

Steampunk Culture-Card #2 A Victorian Romance

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Here in New Hampshire it is sunny and 73 degrees. I can't believe it! So before I enjoy some sunlight I'm posting my newest card creation.

This card measures 4x5.5 inches. I used metallic bronze embossing powder to create the image of the dancers over the stamped music image. I used paper from Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante collection and a jewelry finding from Jo-Ann's. The finding I chose represents a Claddagh ring. 

The following is quoted from Wikipedia in regards to a Claddagh ring:
"The Claddagh's distinctive design features two hands clasping a heart, and usually surmounted by a crown. The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown). A "Fenian" Claddagh ring, without a crown, was later designed in Dublin. Claddagh rings, with or without the crown (most commonly with a crown), have come to denote pride in Irish heritage, while continuing to be symbols of love or marriage.
Claddagh rings may be used as friendship or relationship rings depending on the intention of wearer and, in the case of a gift, of the giver. The way that a Claddagh ring is worn on the hand is usually intended to convey the wearer's relationship status:

1. On the right hand with the heart facing outward, the wearer is single and may be looking for love.
2. On the right hand but turned inwards, the wearer is in a relationship, or their heart has been "captured".
3. On the left hand with the heart facing outward, the wearer is engaged.
4. On the left hand but turned inwards, the wearer is married^."

Steampunk Culture Card #1

Hey Everyone!

Lately I've been so into the Steampunk Culture. I love the Victorian dress mixed with Sci-fi mechanics. So I challenged myself to create a series of cards using a Steampunk theme. And what better way to do this than with Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante Collection. 

The card below is my first in a series of Steampunk Cards. I Used a variety of techniques to create this card. This card measures 4x5.5 inches. I used Bazzill Cardstock to mount the Graphic 45 papers.

1st- I embossed the stamped image of the roses using VersaMark and Judi Kins' Metallic Bronze embossing powder

2nd- I used metal closures to accent the top left corner of the matted stamped image.

3rd- I used Copper thread to tie an antiqued metal bead to the base of the card.
