Hello Everyone! Here is a quick video creating a simple 12x12 scrapbook page out of a pre-printed piece of card stock from Creative Imaginations and Bazzill paper. I was able to purchase all of my supplies from Stamping Memories in Belmont NH.

Steampunk Culture-Card #2 A Victorian Romance

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Here in New Hampshire it is sunny and 73 degrees. I can't believe it! So before I enjoy some sunlight I'm posting my newest card creation.

This card measures 4x5.5 inches. I used metallic bronze embossing powder to create the image of the dancers over the stamped music image. I used paper from Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante collection and a jewelry finding from Jo-Ann's. The finding I chose represents a Claddagh ring. 

The following is quoted from Wikipedia in regards to a Claddagh ring:
"The Claddagh's distinctive design features two hands clasping a heart, and usually surmounted by a crown. The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown). A "Fenian" Claddagh ring, without a crown, was later designed in Dublin. Claddagh rings, with or without the crown (most commonly with a crown), have come to denote pride in Irish heritage, while continuing to be symbols of love or marriage.
Claddagh rings may be used as friendship or relationship rings depending on the intention of wearer and, in the case of a gift, of the giver. The way that a Claddagh ring is worn on the hand is usually intended to convey the wearer's relationship status:

1. On the right hand with the heart facing outward, the wearer is single and may be looking for love.
2. On the right hand but turned inwards, the wearer is in a relationship, or their heart has been "captured".
3. On the left hand with the heart facing outward, the wearer is engaged.
4. On the left hand but turned inwards, the wearer is married^."

My Entry for the Scrap the Music Challenge #191

Hey Everyone,

Below is a picture of my layout using lyrics from "That Man" by Carlo Emerald for the 191st Scrap the Music blog challenge. I hope you like it.

I used the lyrics "Ooh, that man I wanna kiss
                          My only sin is I can't win
                          Ooh I wanna love that man."

I used Copic Ciao markers to color in the kisses I stamped and use foam tape to place them around the page.

Steampunk Culture Card #1

Hey Everyone!

Lately I've been so into the Steampunk Culture. I love the Victorian dress mixed with Sci-fi mechanics. So I challenged myself to create a series of cards using a Steampunk theme. And what better way to do this than with Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante Collection. 

The card below is my first in a series of Steampunk Cards. I Used a variety of techniques to create this card. This card measures 4x5.5 inches. I used Bazzill Cardstock to mount the Graphic 45 papers.

1st- I embossed the stamped image of the roses using VersaMark and Judi Kins' Metallic Bronze embossing powder

2nd- I used metal closures to accent the top left corner of the matted stamped image.

3rd- I used Copper thread to tie an antiqued metal bead to the base of the card.

Classes at Stampin' Memories in Belmont NH

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Back in November 2011, I began teaching classes at Stampin' Memories in Belmont NH. This has been a great experience for me. I love sharing my ideas and techniques with others. Below are pictures from the Valentine Joy Fold Card class on January 14th.

I made these cards using Rose Inka-gold from Viva. This is a newer product and I love it! It gave the chipboard hearts from Bazzill a metallic finish. What was even better was that I could stamp on it! Inka-gold is a  paste. I used q-tips to apply it to the chipboard. This created textured swirls. The paste drys quickly and doesn't transfer once dry.

The paper is from Graphic 45's Le Romantique Collection. 

Winter Wonderland Layout

Here is another simple 12x12 layout using papers from DCWV 2011 Christmas and Winter paper stack. I love the papers this company put out this year! Some of the pages, like the ones I used for this layout just need a few photo mates and they are ready for the scrapbook.
